Directed by Fellipe Abreu and Patrícia Moll, “Two Rivers – Cocoa and Freedom”, tells the story of Dois Riachões – a settlement located in the south of Bahia. The villagers of the Dois Riachões settlement lived in a situation analogous to slavery, but today they have managed to conquer the land and their freedom through cocoa production. In 2021 the community launched its own brand of chocolate.

This movie won several prizes in Brazil and abroad.

THE BITTER SIDE OF VANILLA (TRAILER – English subtitles)

Short documentary on vanilla production and human rights abuses in Madagascar. The country is responsible for 60% of the global production of vanilla – the world’s second-most expensive ingredient. This short film is part of a series of documentaries (i.e. vanilla, cocoa, coffee, tea and others) on cash-crop farming in Africa. The purpose of these stories is to connect farmers with western consumers and bring their stories to the table.
